About me

Reckless. Rule-breaker. A loose cannon. |-----| Meticulous. Mindful. Organized. I usually operate somewhere along that scale depending on various factors.

Interests

I have some pretty decent skills in software development, clinical lab science, general technical prowess, and human interaction. I maintain a positive attitude and am constantly learning new skills and expanding my mind. I enjoy exercise and a clean diet.

Some of my Work

Although I primarily work on desktop software, I do enjoy making my own websites and occasionally create sites for others.

By day, I'm a mild-mannered software developer. By night, I'm an even more mild mannered Clinical Lab Scientist.

The result of years of work with Sunquest® and Smarterm®, I have created hundreds of macros specifically for lab use. Moving on from simple macros I developed programs starting in Visual Basic and progressing to vb.net and C#. Over the years the Ol_Monitor application has been improved and made compatible for practically all versions of Sunquest, including Smart. Ol_Monitor leverages the outstanding terminal emulation capabilities of Esker Smarterm to create a robust program. Over 150 hospitals are using OL Monitor. Most have 3 or more displays, and a few of the larger systems have over 50 Ol Monitors in use! OL Monitor is estimated to be installed on over 700 pc's currently around the nation. It's also being used by hospitals in Canada and the UK.

A fantastic place to work, I've stuck with Harris ever since. At this time I also started studying programming in my spare time. I came up with an idea for some lab software that was desperately needed and was allowed to deploy it in our lab. I'm eternally grateful for the support and encouragement I received from all my supervisors and co-workers. This is truly a special group of people.
